Mamidikaya Pappu - Raw Mango Dal


The best thing I like about summer in India is 'MANGO'. We missed mangoes for two seasons when we were in Milan. This year in Hyderabad, I am getting ready to dig myself into mangoes. 
Mango dal is my favotite among all dal variants. This is the season's first mango dal I made. This is best when served with hot rice. I don't need anything else, if there is mamidikaya pappu in my menu. The tangy flavor of this makes me literally lick my plate.

Roasted Chicken Legs


Is that not welcoming!!

I rarely use chicken legs in my cooking as my husband doesn't like looking at big pieces of meat on his plate.
This time for a change, I asked my butcher to leave the leg pieces uncut. I cooked rest of the chicken in andhra style and marinated these two drumsticks in a spicy marinade.
This preparation turned out so good that even my husband enjoyed his big piece of leg

Chocolate Cake with Mascarpone Frosting


Happy anniversary to me & my darling hubby :). This was the cake I baked for our anniversary last year. When I asked my hubby which cake he wanted for our special day, he said chocolate. Then I started browsing for the recipe and found this moist cake recipe by Laura Vitale. Of-course, I made lot of changes in the filling and frosting.

Chepa Pulusu - Fish in Tamarind Sauce


Me and my husband are not a fan of chepala pulusu, moreover, he just doesn't like eating small fish as he is very much afraid of the bones. I haven't cooked this earlier. We had a guest last week end who loves this dish. So, I had tried to cook this tangy dish with help of my mom-in-law.
